Countdown till Madden ‘11

July 30th, 2010 | By Senor DreQuinn

August 9th 2010 11:50 pm I have a date with the future. The future of things to come, the new and improved future, the future that has been expected to change the way we view the game. Madden NFL 2011 will drop August 10th and I cannot wait! If you love madden like me then you’ve already pre-ordered it called off from work on tenth and will be at your local Gamestop at 12:00 am Tuesday 2 weeks from now waiting in line to pick it up. This has to be one of the most hyped Maddens ever. New features and a change in game play have made me weary, but sources have reassured that 2011 is the best Madden ever released.

I just hope they’re right. The demo was dropped earlier this week and fans everywhere have experienced a taste of new things that we’ve mentioned earlier this year such as game flow, controller layout, kicking, graphics and the physics of the game. This new way of Madden has got me mad anxious and I cannot wait. (I haven’t downloaded the demo no Internet at home! If you haven’t heard Snewty doesn’t pay well) So if your already playing the demo with the Jets and Colts (I understand Madden wants to use conference finals for the demo, last year they used Cardinals and Eagles for the demo, but wouldn’t the super bowl make more sense? Or better yet the All star game? Just saying) I really do hope you enjoy it, now I gotta go drool over the player ratings online

Here’s a preview of gameplay, Avert your eyes during the gameplay, best video I could find but it includes some of the most horrible teams in the NFL…keep in mind I’m from the DMV so I can’t help but be biased

Even though after the 1st week the songs get annoying here’s the sountrack list:
Songs with Original Recordings:

•AC/DC – Thunderstruck
•Archie Eversole – We Ready
•Blur – Song 2
•Bush – Machinehead
•Guns N’ Roses – Welcome to the Jungle
•Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil’ Wayne – Let It Rock
•Kiss – Rock and Roll All Nite
•Ozzy Osbourne – Let Me Hear You Scream
•Ozzy Osbourne – Crazy Train
•The Hives – Tick Tick Boom
•Todd Rundgren – Bang the Drum
•Ying Yang Twins featuring Homebwoi – Halftime

Cover Versions of original songs:

•Rock N Roll Part 2 – as made famous by Gary Glitter
•We Will Rock You – as made famous by Queen
•Crowd Chant – as made famous by Joe Satriani
•Kernkraft 400 – as made famous by Zombie Nation

Team Fight Songs:

Chicago Teddy Bears – Bear Down Chicago Bears (I’m gonna get a lot of heat for that)
•Detroit Lions – Gridiron Heroes
•Green Bay Packers – Go Packers Go!
•Miami Dolphins – Miami Dolphins #1
•Minnesota Vikings – Skol Vikings
•Philthadelphia Eagles – Fly Eagles Fly
WASHINGTON REDSKINS – HAIL TO THE REDSKINS

When bored or broke you should……..

July 23rd, 2010 | By Senor DreQuinn

Free stuff? If you’re in the struggle like the rest of us, or completely bored at work this list of my favorite time killers and interesting sites is for you:

Although he won’t admit it I taught YourAddiction a little lesson in football and how we do it over here on the east coast (sure he might of beat me the second time but that was just luck haha I think I just inadvertently called him out). This game is perfect for you fantasy football fans that can’t wait for the season to start.  Quick hits offers a surprisingly addictive game play that puts you in control of play calling for your personalized team. With a decent way to expand and strengthen your team, challenges, and the ability to face friends and stranger this game will definitely help you pass the time.

www.Quickhit.com

This one will definitely have you feeling nostalgic. You loved playing Super Mario as a kid, but what if you could play with some of your other favorite Nintendo Characters? With Super Mario Bros Crossover you can go back to saving Mario’s joint Princess Peach (for the umpteenth time) with Megaman, Samus from Metroid Prime, Link from Zelda and others in this fan based game. Not only will you look busy, but you’ll get hooked instantly just to see how they used each characters powers.

Not into gaming? How about free shipping from Amazon for a year, that or discounted over night shipping? Yea I know it’s not completely free but just imagine 365 days minus holidays and what not of free shipping just for being a student. As long as you have an .edu email address you can take advantage of Amazons Prime service just follow the link and the directions on the site.

Ever wanted to upload a YouTube video to your iPod, or wanted to get the mp3 of a song you’ve only been able to find on YouTube? Well there’s this interesting little program that does all that for you, just put in the URL and start downloading the content. Only downside is if you download the mp3 file it’ll be extremely long, but depending on how hard it is to find the song it should be worth it.

New IPhone 4 Makes it Easier to Pre-Order IPhone 5

July 14th, 2010 | By YourAddiction

To continue with the battle of IPhone 4 vs. the Androids one of the newest members of the Snewty Team, Senor DreQuinn,  sent over a quick post for me to post for you guys, I will introduce him later on but enjoy the article.

With a Front facing camera, higher screen and camera resolutions, and a revamped OS (and I use the term revamped very, very lightly) is the new iPhone 4 from apple all it’s cracked up to be? Would we, as the typical consumer be able to really tell the difference? Probably not. The average user uses the average apps. The new Retina display does in fact make the screen sharper, but when it comes down to it, makes little to no difference. You’re still using AT&T’s less than stellar network and essentially are wasting money on getting a new phone that does the same thing as your “old” phone. I’m sure you’re thinking however, “Hey Snewty I bet you guys can’t video chat on your Blackberry or Android device. “ At which point we say, “Hey beloved snewty fans, unless you have a Wi-Fi connection and whoever you want to video chat with has an iPhone 4 too, then you can’t either.” That’s right just when you thought you’d be able to have a little fun Skypeing from your iPhone to impress your friends, Steve Jobs takes that dream, compresses it down into a bare minimum, slaps on a catchy name like Face Time, and brands Apple on it. So after watching this video if you’re still considering the iPhone 4 and are determined to get it, by all means be our guests. But since I care too much my advice would be to keep your 3gs and just wait and see how the market turns out with our ever growing mobile technology.

And just in case you live breathe and love Apple and its iPhone, this video, even though it does go on my beloved Android OS, and Sprint (but Sprints customer service definitely makes you want an iPhone),is for you:

Samsung Galaxy S is Here

July 14th, 2010 | By YourAddiction

In a world where cell phones have become staples in business and personal lives and many people are using their cells phones more than laptops, it is only right that the bar is raised over and over again and with the constant battle for cell phone supermacy over the ever so popular I Phone, the Android Market is striking again!

The Iphone 4 is in the streets and there are plenty of people hailing it the king yet again but the functionality of droids and the features they are bringing are making it rather hard for Apple to retain that crown. (The fact that the terrible service of AT&T is the only carrier housing the IPhone is also a deal breaker.)

Well right now the HTC Evo and the many equivalents are running the market with its’ over size screen and super fast processor but there is a new king set to hit the streets and overshadow all present Androids. Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S.

Features include:

The Samsung Galazy S offers a 4″ WVGA Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display.  Other key features include 1 GHz application processor, eBook, Daily Briefing (instant access to weather, stocks, etc.), Swype text entry system, and write and go (write down a reminder and decide later what to do with it; SMS, e-mail etc.).

The phone also will have other cool features depending on the carrier you have including 4G(Sprint) and the movie Avatar(T-Mobile).Check out the video demo:

This phone is awesome and will be releasing US equivalents to all of the major carriers, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular and even At&t. Visit the exclusive site for the phone for more info: http://galaxys.samsungmobile.com/

I was gonna wait until Freaky Friday came along, but I just couldn’t resist posting this. This is an actual pin-up calendar that Japanese computer display company EIZO sent out to doctors. They were trying to promote their new high-end medical imaging high precision displays for the examination and diagnosis of radio-graphs. I died laughin’ when I saw this.

Dogs Can Be Snewty To

June 14th, 2010 | By Isis

So I have a puppy and while browsing online for cool stuff for him, I came across this and thought it was a cool gadget for a fashionably progressive doggy, behold the self serve doggie fountain

You just attach this to your current garden hose and you can adjust the water height by messing with the amount of water pressure.  This would be a great way for dogs to get cool water even when it’s incredibly hot outside.  You’ll also not have to worry about constantly refilling water bowls.  The fountain will come on as soon as your pet steps onto the metal plate.  You can purchase the Doggie Fountain for $39.98 through Taylor Gifts.

Orange x Gotwind – Power Wellies

June 8th, 2010 | By SDot

Power Wellies

British telecommunications company Orange team up with the big shots of renewable energy, Gotwind to bring you the Power Wellies. These snewty boots harbor thermoelectric soles… which means that they convert temperature changes into electric voltage. For example, your hot sweaty feet versus the cold of the ground you are walking on. “The hotter your feet get, the more energy you produce”. But the snewtiest feature of these boots is – if you work up enough energy, you can reach a sizable voltage to charge a cell phone.

Apples Unveils New Iphone 4

June 7th, 2010 | By Isis

iPhone 4

The stainless steel band that goes around the phone is an antenna system, while also providing the main structure of the phone, though it’s plugged into the same old GSM / UMTS radio you all know and love — there’s a reason they didn’t call it the iPhone 4G. There’s also of course that front facing camera we were all anticipating, a rear camera with LED flash, and a new high resolution display that doubles the pixels in each direction (960 x 640) for a 4X overall pixel count increase — Apple calls it a “Retina Display.” It’s rated at 326ppi, which Apple claims is beyond the human eye’s limit of distinction. Check out an example of the new screen up against the iPhone 3G after the break. Similar to the iPad, it’s an IPS display, offering 800:1 contrast. Naturally, it’s still the same old 3.5-inch size. Under the hood is the A4 processor that runs the iPad. Despite the new engine (and the 25% thinner chassis), Apple managed to make the battery slightly larger, and the new handset is rated at 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music. Oh, and that WiFi? It’s 802.11n now. The camera has been bumped to 5 megapixels, with 5X digital zoom and a “backside illuminated sensor,” which now can also record HD video at 720p / 30fps.
On the software front, applications will automatically get high resolution text and buttons as part of iOS 4 (the OS previously known as iPhone OS 4), and with “a little bit of work” developers can make their entire app compatible with the new resolution display. Developers will also get access to a new gyroscope, giving devs “six axis” motion control between the gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, with a new “Core Motion” API to deal with it all. Users won’t be left out in the cold, however: they can mess around with that new HD video using a brand new iMovie app, if they shell out $4.99 for it. If anyone’s feeling particularly frisky, iOS 4 even lets you switch your default search provider to Bing. Last but certainly not least, that new front camera is enabled for video chat using the new “FaceTime” feature. It’s a WiFi-only (for now) video calling feature that works from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 with “no setup” involved, and can flip over to the rear camera if your grandparents get tired of your face.

The phone will be available in white or black, retailing at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for 32GB. They go on sale June 24th, and AT&T will be giving some extra grace upgrade timing — up to six months early. The 3GS will be dropped to $99 and the 3G will disappear completely. Pre-orders start in a week, with 5 countries at launch (US, France, Germany, UK, Japan), with 18 more following in July. Apple will also be selling a first party case for $29, and a dock for the same price. (Engadget)
