Fresh Daily – Mothership/Land

I get it… I’m the only Fresh Daily fan in Snewtonia, that’s fine, but I’m going to keep posting his music until that changes!  He released a mixtape last week that truly shows his talent and growth as a hip-hop artist. (hip-hop artist – one who posesses and implements a skill set and vision with respect to rap music that is beyond the scope of your average rhymesayer)  There are hella gems on this project so preview it in the bandcamp player and then download it, your itunes will thank you!

K-OS – The Anchorman Mixtape

August 13th, 2010 | By Malcolm Snax

k-os-260x260

Sdot posted a track off this project earlier this week, HERE.  For those who don’t know, K-Os is a vet on the underground hip-hop scene and a star in his native Canada (you know, that place where Drake is secretly from) K-Os is like a more ecletic, talented, less annoying Drake, with a lil’ Will.I.Am thrown in there except  he sings and raps better.  I promise you there some gems here!

Gerald Walker – I Remember When This All Meant Something (Mixtape)

July 16th, 2010 | By Malcolm Snax

4grbbl

After months of leaks and anticipation, Gerald Walker releases the aptly titled “I Remember When This All Meant Something…”

“ The mixtape everyone is calling his declaration of maturity as both a man and human being; symbolizing his acceptance
of how far detached from reality he was both in a spiritual and secular sense. It’s an
audio piece of work that will take you on a journey and prepare you to grow up with him.
The 15-track mixtape features collaborations with Mr. Robotic, Bryant Stewart, Add-
2 and Barron ‘Slot-A’ Bollar, who also serves as an executive producer. It comes
after He is best known for his mixtape Evening out with Your Girlfriend which includes
features Matt and Kim, Will.i.am, Ayọ, and The Arctic Monkeys.”

Snewty.com Presents….Hayling Price who presents…….Keys Open Doors

July 14th, 2010 | By YourAddiction

Now as many of my friends know, it is not very common for me to hear some music from anyone and actually like it without having something to say about it, but every now and then it happens which in turns makes the artist I am listening to DOPE!!! Well that is what happened when I heard this project by Hayling Price. Hayling hails from the DMV by way of P-H-I-L-L-Y and by golly this kid has talent. He put out a beat tape a couple of months ago and I been sitting on it (sorry) but I recently met the dude and over the tunes of Steely Dan we vibed  and I could not hold this tape anymore. Take a listen to this yall, like fareal, Snewty is putting the stamp on this hot music here! Then hit your boy Hayling up on his blog HPinDc.blogspot or on twitter @brotherPrice.

*Hayling gave me a clip of him making a beat off the Keys Open Doors Project but I thought this was a bit more appealing and really shows why I am feeling this dude, the band jam session is crazy(music written by Hayling). Expect more from Snewty and Hayling.

Progressive Therapy with Dj Xklusive Vol 1

July 12th, 2010 | By Isis

progressivethera2
In keeping with Snewty’s overarching goal of presenting you with fashionably progressive, progressively dope content, we decided it was time that we started showing the dj’s who are on their grind and up and coming ,some love. Dj’s hit us up!! Central Illinois’s Dj Xklusive decided to kick things off for us with his mix series entitled “Progressive Therapy”.

Vol 1 is a collection of new music from various artist and the soundtrack for getting ready to hit the town. The title “Progressive Therapy” stems from the concept that as a dj there is always progress to be made, and room for growth. Therapy is Xklusive’s take on the service a dj should provide. Some Dj’s make movies, Xklusive gives you “therapy”. ” Everytime I touch my tables I want the crowd to have a transformative experience, I wanna create life changing moments. When they walk in the club, regardless of how bad there day was or what’s troubling them in life, they should leave feeling rejuvented and void of all problems for the moment . Music is a powerful tool, and one song can completely change your outlook or feelings. I wanna be the one to play that one song “.
