“The Vuitton family made wooden animal toys which were then collected by Gaston Louis Vuitton’s wife, Renée. This wooden toy collection was created more than 60 years ago and the examples were found in the Maison’s archives. For the Opening of the Louis Vuitton Avenue Marceau store in 1954 for Maison Louis Vuitton’s 100th anniversary, Gaston-Louis Vuitton dedicated the first floor of the store to his wife Renée, who turned it into a “Salon de jouets” (toy store) which then closed in 1970.”

The Animania Coin Purses feature the animal patchwork made from Monogram canvas, patent leather, and karung snakeskin. Animals in the coin purses include: Ecureil (Squirrel) in Amarante, Coq (Rooster) in Gris Art Deco, Oiseau (Songbird) in Rose Florentin, and Lapin (Bunny) in Pomme d’Amour available at Louis Vuitton for US$500.
